The Space Between
The work captures the Sunday before leaving our home — the only place we had ever known — and beginning a journey towards something new.
That day, we went to our favorite field by the ocean, where tall grass swayed in the wind and wildflowers bent toward the sea. She climbed the rocks overlooking the waves, as the ocean thundered below. Her waves breaking like every emotion you’ve ever felt.
I watched her face — filled with thought, sorrow, and light. Our first child was on the way. In that stillness, I felt her sadness at leaving home, the fear of an unknown journey, and the fragile hope of what was to come. After a long silence, she turned to me — eyes full of tears and wonder — and softly smiled, her hand resting on her belly.
The waves crashed against the rocks, the wind carried our thoughts away, and for a moment, time itself seemed to hold its breath.
The work lingers within a single, delicate moment — resting in the hush that lives between The Space Between what is and what is yet to be.
