A Children's Lullaby
This piece was inspired by a poem by Yeats.
The Angels are stooping above your bed
They weary of trooping with the whimpering dead
Gods laughing in heaven to see you so good
The Shining Seven are gay with his mood
I Kiss you and kiss you my pigeon my dove
And how I shall miss you when you have grown
The opening of the piece is the melody for the poem. The second part - my feelings as I watched the children slowly fall asleep. It is one of my favorite themes. I felt such peace and joy watching them toss and turn. Such a wonderful memory - I could hear them asking "Dad, can you read it one more time...please." (over and over again)
Score: Piano
