Scored for two contrasting voices, the work unfolds as a private dialogue. The harp offers translucent harmonic texture, while the viola responds with warm, sustained lines.

Their exchange is restrained and deliberate — proximity without excess. The opening gestures suggest hesitation — a moment suspended between impulse and awareness.

Gradually, the harmonic language softens. Tension yields not to sentimentality, but to recognition. You and I is built from nuance. Subtle shifts in timbre and phrasing carry the emotional weight.
